The most funny and hilarious book in contemprary indian literature which makes you laugh and at the same time, know about the issues which run deeper in a country like India. I found most of my friends shirking the book because of the Title (with the word Kamasutra in it) and thats an irony. Well, the title is only 4 words and the book has more than thousands of word and each of those thousands of words is a powerful potent canon.

Very tightly packed, the book is very concise and will test you ability to restrain your laughters/giggles – so beware, you might look a fool if you will try to read it in a public place . It is heartening to find such a book which dares to be candid on so many issues – be it a small town lad, sexual repression prevailing in the indian society and fantasies of an aspiring and talented common man. It is a daring piece of work by an author who knows his way with words that make a straight way directly into your heart. Enjoy Reading !!

A marvellous gift to mankind from Satyajit Ray – 2 wonderful characters Feluda and Professor Shonku.

To say something about Satyajit Ray seems like possessing a big mouth . Few of us know him as a writer since he is better known to us as a film maker. Well, he intended to write some funny, educative, thriller stories for young children for his monthly magazine for children. However, the stories turned out to be read more by adults and easily became the rage of the town. Simply superb way of story telling. Since the stories are meanth for children, Ray has made an excellent choice to have the narrator of stories as Topshe, a young lad in his teens – a cousin of our detective Feluda. The stories are always set in different locales within and sometimes outside India and give such an elaborate account of the locales that reader feels like having seen the same place through Ray’s eyes. To add, without letting you even know about it, the stories add a lot to your knowledge quotient as Ray is spicing up his stories with good amount of knowledge without bogging down the reader with the “learning stress”.

In all, an excellent book to be read by your kids and you as well, in case you are still young at heart

A book that was must to be written – for the sake of rest of the existence; to shake them out of their slumber, to make them think whether they are truly living with OPEN eyes or not. This is the life of someone who lived thru her heart; who was connected to her own heart in the way that rarely people are. This is a life full of “lust for life” and full of those little little eye-openers. A life that you can easily relate to and a life that perhaps you would appreciate, even if a bit secretly. Quietly describes the moral dilemmas of indian society – in relation to sex, women, wife, politics, power, social status etc. In all – a wonderful book and a courageous one.
